Basement remodel

A basement made for game night

A wood wet bar connects the game tables, arcade, and media lounge.

Pool, shuffleboard, and a comfortable lounge share one open lower level.

A room for a full evening

Let the games lead the plan

Pool, shuffleboard, cards, an arcade game, and something on TV: this basement makes room for all of them. The palette stays controlled, with sage walls, charcoal accents, warm wood, and leather seating. That restraint lets the games bring the energy.

01Two anchors

A bar to gather at. A lounge to settle into.

An arcade cabinet gives the end of the bar an unmistakably playful purpose.

The playful end of the bar

Hexagonal tile, open glassware shelves, and wood cabinetry make the bar a finished part of the room. The arcade cabinet sits alongside it, so the entertaining space doesn't take itself too seriously.

The wood-slat frame gives the TV wall focus without a large built-out surround.

A composed media wall

Vertical wood slats frame the screen against a charcoal background. Low storage keeps the composition horizontal and gives the lounge a calm focal point.

02Room to play

Different games, one connected space

A round table needs a different kind of space from a pool table or shuffleboard. Here, each has a recognizable place in the room. You can see the next activity without feeling that every piece of furniture is competing for the same corner.

A round table offers a place for cards between the more active game areas.
Table games sit together, with daylight reaching the far end of the room.

03The connection

Keep the bar part of the conversation

The island's dark surface repeats the media wall's deeper tones, while the wood base relates to the game tables. From this side of the room, the bar and leather lounge read as parts of the same plan.

The island faces the lounge and keeps the serving area part of the gathering.
Seen from the lounge side, the island faces the bar’s cabinetry and open shelves.
